Clinicians at the Jacob Center are highly experienced in producting parents and caregivers with guidance to help support youth, adolescents, and young adults who may be struggling with Anxiety, OCD, or behavioral difficulties. Family involvement is often an integral aspect of successful treatment, and our clinicians are experts in providing such support.
SPACE focuses on training the parents/caregivers to better support their child with anxiety or other emotional problems. It also helps them break the cycle of accommodating and enabling behavior. Although many of these parent-focused strategies are incorporated into child treatment, regardless, SPACE can be used if the child is resistant or unwilling to participate in treatment, as well as if there are a high level of parent accommodating behaviors.
Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) is an evidence-based treatment for children with behavior problems. Therapist provide real-time, in-the-moment "coaching" on skills to help manage child behavior.
