Generalized Anxiety Disorder is characterized by excessive anxiety about a number of events or activities. The person finds it difficult to control the worry, and the symptoms cause clinically significant distress and/or impairment in social, occupational, or other important areas of functioning. Anxiety and worry may also be associated with a variety of physical symptoms such as restlessness or feeling keyed up or on edge, being easily fatigued, difficulty concentrating or mind going blank, irritability, muscle tension, and sleep problems.
