During his time at USF, he specialized in treating Anxiety and Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) across the lifespan, with an emphasis on treating Anxiety and OCD in the context of Autism Spectrum Disorder. Dr. Ordaz completed his clinical internship at Baylor College of Medicine’s OCD Program in Houston, TX, under the supervision of Dr. Eric Storch. During this time, he gained further specialization in treating and assessing Anxiety and Obsessive Compulsive-Related Disorders across the lifespan. He was also recognized as "Most Outstanding Clinical Intern" for his excellence in clinical skill. Dr. Ordaz brings a background in academic research to his clinical work. While at USF, Dr. Ordaz was part of the Body Image Research Group, conducting research on gynecomastia and sociocultural influences to body image. As he continued to specialize in anxiety, Dr. Ordaz’s research began to emphasize appearance-related anxiety. More specifically, Dr. Ordaz has developed research interests in muscle dysmorphia and appearance-related anxiety in the bodybuilding community, with an emphasis on evidence-based treatment for individuals with appearance-related anxiety in the bodybuilding community. Dr. Ordaz specializes in OCD, O-C Spectrum Disorders (e.g., Body Dysmorphic Disorder and Muscle Dysmorphia), comorbid Anxiety/OCD and Autism Spectrum Disorder, Eating Disorders, and Appearance-related Anxiety. He conducts Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), and Habit Reversal Training (HRT), and sees children, adolescents, and adults.
